At About Smiles we have both general dentists and a paediatric dentist to treat children on staff. Our specialist children’s dentist is Dr. Caroline Chung whose experience covers all aspects of paediatric dentistry. You can discover more about her experience on our team page.
We often get asked: What is the difference? The difference is that a paediatric dentist has two to three years specialist training after dental university. This training solely focuses on treating infants and children through adolescence, including those with special health needs.
For some children diagnosis of particular problems, extensive oral rehabilitation, dental management and subsequent treatment may involve an approach that may not be possible within the routine confines of a general dentist.
Dr. Caroline Chung consults at our Chatswood location, treatments can be performed in rooms or at a hospital under general anaesthetic. Advance booking required.
