Dr Paul Gaisford has recently joined us from England, where he has worked in both the NHS (National Health Service) and Private Practice. He qualified as a dentist from Kings College London (KCL) University in 2016 as a mature student, having previously had short careers in the fitness industry (first degree in Sports Science from Loughborough University), the British Army, and as a Police Officer. These experiences have helped him develop strong communication skills, and the highest ethical standards. He is committed to putting his patient’s interests first, has a friendly and caring nature, and the ability to put nervous patients at ease. He is passionate about continuing professional development, and shortly after graduating gained his Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties from the Royal College of Surgeons. He has completed numerous postgraduate courses and has most recently successfully passed the first year of the four-year KCL postgraduate degree program leading to the Master of Clinical Dentistry qualification in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics. His first dental priorities are usually helping ease patient’s pain and achieve optimum oral health and stability. This often involves restoring broken teeth and failing fillings (adopting maximum tooth preservation techniques), removing teeth which are unrestorable, and helping to stabilise gum disease, with a strong focus on prevention. Once oral health is restored, cosmetic issues can be focused on including aligning, bleaching, and bonding. Outside of work, Paul enjoys running and keeping fit, and spending time with his wife and three young daughters.
