Child Dental Benefits Scheme
The Child Dental Benefits Scheme (CDBS) is an Australian government funded scheme that provides financial support for essential dental procedures to
children that need it most.
What is covered?
Eligible children aged 2-17 are entitled to a range of essential dental services such as exams, x-rays, fissure sealants, fillings and extractions
up to the value of $1000 every 2 calendar years.

Are there Out of Pocket Expenses?
At About Smiles Kids, we believe that creating a positive and lasting dental relationship is important to setting up your child for a lifetime of healthy
teeth. There are no out of pocket expenses for dental services provided under the CDBS, as long as they are within your benefit limit. Simply pay
your account on the day and take it to any Medicare office for full reimbursement.

Department of Veterans’ Affairs
The Australian government provides financial support for essential dental procedures for war veterans, their war widows and widowers and dependants.
What is covered?
The Department of Veterans’ Affairs will fund all dental services, provided under DVA arrangements, necessary to meet clinical needs for Gold Card
holders. For White Card holders, dental treatment can only be provided in relation to your accepted disabilities.

Are there Out of Pocket Expenses?
There are no out of pocket expenses for DVA patients for dental treatment performed under the Schedule A and Schedule B conditions of the Department
of Veterans’ Affairs Dental Schedule. Dental procedures such as examinations, x-rays, cleans, fillings, extractions are covered under these conditions.
Complex procedures are subject to DVA annual limits and as long as these limits have not been reached, you won’t be charged for any out of pocket
expenses for dental services under DVA Scheme.
